Tina
Delgados, Founder of True Definitions
I
am a hard working mother of two beautiful boys. Over the past
couple of years, I had a burning desire to make a difference
in the world by helping others. During this time, I really
didn’t know how, all I knew was this desire burned deep
inside of me. I’d like to refer to this burning desire
as “my gift.”
Two
years ago, I was in the process of going through a divorce.
While venting to a friend, I took a deep breath and said,
“Wow, wouldn’t it be great to go to a website
where you can click on a word like divorce and write your
heart out? A website where you read and relate to others,
seek support from someone who already traveled down your road
or offer support to someone once you completed your journey.”
I felt this would be a great way for one to release life’s
pressures or to learn about how others have dealt with certain
obstacles in their lives. We often walk around thinking we
have life so bad. After reading about the experiences of others,
it may help us realize life is not that bad after all...
After kicking the thought around for a couple of months, life’s
pressures crept back in, causing this vision to be put on
hold. Two years later, the fire sparked back up and I was
ready to move full speed ahead. My life had finally come full
circle and I still had the PASSION and was ready to step out
boldly with this VISION. And the rest is history….

When
My Sister and Best Friend shared her thoughts about creating
a place where people could go to express themselves; it was
amazing how the vision came to me so vividly. I could immediately
relate to what she was trying to accomplish. Together we became
obsessed with the desire to help people who are in need around
the world, find peace within themselves.
I
have personally been through a number of challenges in my
own life. During these challenging moments, I kept a positive
attitude by knowing there were people in the world going through
much more than I was. I often thought about my family members
and friends who died at a very early age from drug addiction.
I would ask myself “Wouldn’t they love to be here
right now fighting this particular battle, rather than the
battles they fought, only to lose the fight?” It was
these thoughts and memories of loved ones that would get me
to the next phase in my life. Through all of the ups and downs,
I have always had a vision for myself and for my future. I
am a firm believer that God does not give us more than we
can handle.
About
Us Together
Growing
up as bi-racial children in the projects has exposed us to
all walks of life. We were affected by words like alcoholism,
death, poverty and racism; but chose to focus on words like
love, friendship, compassion and acceptance. We had relationships
with people of all races, economic levels and people who were
addicted to many different substances and we loved each group
equally. We are thankful that we surrounded ourselves with
all people. This has taught us to be open-minded and allowed
us to see the good in everyone.
We
have been through a lot of life’s experiences together,
both good and bad. Through our own personal connection to
one another, we have always had the ability to find our way
back to the top. This is our desire for each and every one
of you. We are hopeful that through your connection with others;
you too will find your way back on to a solid foundation.
Thanks
to our Higher Power for giving us the Vision and Blessing
us with the Passion.
About
You
What we thought about you (the reader or writer) before this
website became a reality:
It
excites us deep within our souls to be responsible for building
the bridge between people all around the world. We envision
this website to be a quiet place where people can go to release
themselves, relate to others and walk away feeling better
about their lives. We are hopeful that this will be a place
where you will not only visit once, but a place where you
will come back to over and over again. We want you to get
everything out of this journey that you are looking for. Everyone
wants to be heard so this is your time to speak up!
Thanks
to all of you for supporting our vision.
